Anonymous party of 1 had dinner at Big Al's in
Sarasota and rated the gyro and a glass of wine fair because,
"served with enough lettuce to feed a colony of rabbits, few onions,
and about 6 pieces of cold meat." and writes on April 6, 2010, "The
first night I tried to eat there: When the hostess asked how many
and I answered one, she said, “You can have a seat at the bar.” I’m
sorry, but I don’t want to sit at the bar… The host and hostess were
preoccupied anticipating a larger party that was due to watch the
basketball game. He was trying to stop her from having a mild
breakdown. I left.
I decided to give it another chance It was close to the hotel I had
selected (and my desire for a nightcap). I seated myself outdoors. I
had looked at the menu online and already decided on the prime rib.
When I looked at the actual menu, I noticed that it was only served
on Friday and Saturday nights. (This was fine print that I was not
able to read online.) There were limited other steak options, so I
opted for the gyro. It came in about ten minutes and it was served
with enough lettuce to feed a colony of rabbits, few onions, and
about 6 pieces of meat and they were cold. The gyro was $9.49.
It’s a below average chain restaurant with less than pleasant staff.
With the variety of other restaurants in the area, I won’t be going
back to this one."

bad, impossible to eat, second serving came black and bad also" and

Big Al's in Sarasota and rated the fish, mashed potatoes, gyro
poor because, "had a insect crawling on mashed potatoes" and
writes on 12/18/2009 "On December 18th, 2009, 6:30pm,at Big Al's
restaurant. We ordered fish dinner w/ mashed potatoes. There was
an insect crawling on potatoes, the manager was notified, we
were given a new order, however, not much of an appetite after
meal was served, ate some, not all. I was surprised that manager
stated the he does not comp food."

Chips & Salsa poor because, "Lousy!" and writes on 11/29/2009:
"This was the worst restaurant I've been to. The silverware was
dirty and when we ask for new, the waitress gave us the same
back. It had the same old food stuck to it. We told the Manager
who did nothing. We had to wait over 40 minutes to get chips &
salsa. Never, never, never go to this crap hole!"

August 12, 2009, "Erica (Waiter) applied $1. charge for
substitution and did not inform us of the up charge at the time
of ordering. She said she could offer the substitution and not
to worry - "She'll handle it."The upcharge came off of her tip."
